Words of Encouragement

Oct 10, 2012

When we were at the Rip Van Winkle Gardens in southern Louisiana we came across several water gardens with all kinds of water lilly.  But hidden in all of the lilly there was one real standout;  a lotus plant with one bloom.  If you have never seen one, they are a sight to behold.

There is so much written about the lotus plant and its use metaphorically in Eastern religions that is worthy of your consideration. We get so busy that we don't take the time to look at the answers that are all around us.

Then I ran across this quote from Anne Frank. "The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely, or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature, and God.  Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature.  As long as that exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be."  I find this is true when I can get out in nature and just let it be.
